RE-OPENING THE PRINCESS
The Princess Theatre and Arts Centre is delighted to announce our plans for the staged re-opening of the venue over the coming months. These plans are of course subject to change in line with the governmental guidance and legislation. The Princess remains committed to only re-opening with confidence in our ability to provide a safe environment for all users, staff, and our wider local community.

STAGE ONE – from 7th June

The first stage of The Princess’ re-opening from 7th June will see us working under strict social distancing measures to all visitors. The new look café under the management of Hellend’s Kitchen will also be open. Full details of The Princess’ opening times, social distancing measures and the venue’s incredible new refurbishment will be released within the next few weeks.

The venue itself will be operating as a gallery for our exciting new art exhibition ‘Contact’; which is the varied responses of 12 diverse artists to the experience and consequences of the pandemic. The exhibition acts as a reflection of the very real need for human contact during lockdown and what our new way of life looks like.

We will be inviting our members & volunteers to exclusive trial events over this period, as well as hosting a socially distanced concert.

STAGE TWO – from 21st June

The second stage of the venue’s re-opening will see the return of all regular usage of the venue, our new classic film screenings will begin, and full capacity ticketed events will return to the venue. Some basic social distancing measures may remain in place to ensure the safety of all our users again this is all subject to government guidance.

While our doors are closed The Princess remains committed to connecting with and engaging our local community with the arts with our virtual community choir and online audio plays. For more details on these and all the events we have coming up please visit our website.
