Tea with Mr Banks: Cream Tea & Conversation with James Tomlinson
You’re cordially invited to “Tea with Mr Banks”, an afternoon of stories, nostalgia and refreshments, as we welcome James Tomlinson, son of legendary British actor David Tomlinson, for a special literary and cinematic celebration.
David Tomlinson is best remembered for his unforgettable roles in classic films such as:
“Mary Poppins” (1964) – as the beloved but befuddled Mr Banks
“Bedknobs and Broomsticks” (1971)
“The Love Bug” (1968)
“The Water Babies” (1978)
“Up the Creek” (1958)
“The Wooden Horse” (1950)
These timeless performances – and dozens more – made him one of the most charming and iconic figures in British and Disney film history.
In this intimate event, James will discuss the reissue of his father’s acclaimed autobiography, Luckier Than Most, offering personal insights into David Tomlinson’s fascinating life – from wartime heroics to behind-the-scenes stories from Hollywood and Pinewood Studios.
