Many people learn poems in their youth and carry those words through their lifetime, sharing them with their children and friends. These memories and fragments of poetry have the power to connect us with our own pasts and through experiences shared with other generations.
In this workshop, Jo Burridge invites you to share poems that you love, learned or remember hearing from others. Discuss what they mean to you and together, form a group poem from fragments of verse.
Feel free to bring a copy of a poem that you love or remember, but Jo will have a range of well known poems with her.
This workshop is formed from the Poetry Cares project, you can find out more about Poetry Cares at https://literatureworks.org.uk/projects/poetry-cares/
People of all ages are welcome, no writing experience needed. This will be a dementia-friendly session, with no pressure to read anything out loud.
