The Break A Leg Theatre Company kick-off their productions at The Princess Theatre with a comedy double-bill.
“The Burglar ”
A tale of modern life and relationships. Derek and Mary Hobson are awakened to find a burglar in their living room. Derek is appalled, not just because he is being robbed but the burglar is, in fact, a woman! As the evening unfolds, we begin to discover more about the failing relationship of the Hobsons than the burglary itself and, much to Derek’s increasing annoyance, Mary actually seems to be forming some sort of bond with the perpetrator.
“The Christmas Carol”
A comic retelling of the Dickens timeless classic. The traditional Christmas tale of redemption is given a little comic twist and run at a smarter pace, but still delivers the required moral lesson along with the laughs. Scrooge is a miser who cares nothing for Christmas He is visited by the ghost of his old partner, Jacob Marley, then three other spirits who show him sights that reveal the kind of man he is, and what will befall him if he does not change his ways. He responds appropriately and becomes a changed man, beloved of all those around him.
